Bill O’Reilly creating an excuse to attack Stephen Colbert

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly chided Stephen Colbert on Monday for making fun of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia following the high court’s decision legalizing marriage equality.

“In a few months, Colbert will be competing against [Jimmy] Fallon and [Jimmy] Kimmel, both talented and successful guys,” O’Reilly warned. “He might want to think about alienating traditional Americans to the extent he has. It could be very bad for business.”

Colbert released a short video late Friday night quipping that he thought Scalia hid his head “in a flesh-toned cinch sack” before inviting him onto The Late Show after he takes over in September.

O’Reilly, however, bemoaned the wave of derision directed toward Scalia following the court’s 5-4 ruling, calling Scalia’s dissent “well-thought out.”

“Oppression runs both ways, and Americans should consider that,” the host argued.

O’Reilly also said that “forcing” people to participate in same-sex marriages “tears up the social contract forged by the founders.”

“If a baker believes marriage is a sacrament instituted by his religion, the government should leave the baker alone,” he said.
