BP Oil Spill & Oklahoma
On April 19, 1995 in Oklahoma a bombing occurred on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. It was the biggest impact on U.S.Soil in history until 9/11. Our hearts go out to the people who died on that day.
Now we go to what happened yesterday on April 20, 2010. The biggest oil spill of the year and ever occurred as BP’s digging well exploded killing 11 workers and an oil spill which lasted for 3 months from April 20, 2010 to July 15, 2010. The well was officially sealed on September 19, 2010. As it’s one year later the Oil still remains in the Gulf and clean-up efforts are still undergoing which could take year for the people over there to clean-up the reaming oil.
The impact of this oil spill impacted animals which lead them being sunk in oil. Businesses had too be closed. Businesses such as Beach’s, restaurants, clubs, etc… were shutdown by this oil encounter. Fishing was a hobby down there and fishing was not allowed and it’s still not allowed. Now Businesses are re-opening and they are on to a slow start. Beaches are re-opening. Lots of collected oil will be in bags and they will be collected and maybe recycled I don’t know. So that’s it.
